Everything on this site as one map. Follow the spine top to bottom, branch off wherever a side box tempts you, and click any box to go learn that thing. Skip what you already know — plenty of people join at stage ③.

Pick your entrance

The map has two natural entrances, and both walk the same spine:

• 🚀 "I want to publish something" — website, blog, a page on the web. Start at ①; something live by ② — today.
• 📝 "I want better notes" — knowledge base, second brain, maybe published later or never. Start at ①, skim ②, and the publishing steps will be waiting when you care.

The spine, in words

• ⓪ Why bother? (optional, 5 min) — why markdown-based, or the punchier manifesto. Skip if convinced.
• ① Learn markdown (10–20 min) — Markdown Basics; the syntax is genuinely small. Side quests: markdown everywhere, markdown + AI, pluggable markdown.
• ② Publish your first page (20 min) — the "GitHub direct method", nothing installed: tutorial 1. Or the smallest version: publish a single document.
• ③ Go local: Obsidian + GitHub Desktop (40 min) — tutorial 2, plus what makes Obsidian special.
• ④ Structure your stuff (30 min) — build a catalog of anything, then the markdown database pattern behind it.
• ⑤ Work with others (20 min) — tutorial 3, GitHub tips, the glossary and the git rescue guide for when things go sideways.
