The Way of Markdown is live 🚀

After years of circling this (an old mind-map of mine for it just resurfaced, from 2023!), the site is live: The Way of Markdown, about markdown and, more importantly, everything you can build on it.

The premise, briefly: nobody actually cares about markdown. It's like caring about ASCII. What you care about is having a website, a knowledge base, your team's docs, a catalog of your books, and not having them locked inside somebody else's platform. Markdown plus its tool ecosystem gets you those things from plain files you own. That's the way of markdown.

What's here so far:

• The Markdown Roadmap 🗺️ — the whole journey as one visual, clickable map, colour-coded by what's built (it doubles as our honest to-do list)
• The Markdown Manifesto — the declaration, after many years of drafting
• Markdown-based everything — guides for building websites, blogs, knowledge bases, a Notion replacement, databases, wikis, gardens, journals, books…
• Markdown Everywhere 🌍 — every app that speaks markdown, each with a how-to (and a name-and-shame corner for the holdouts)
• The Markdown Database Pattern — the essay behind the most underrated trick in the ecosystem

The site is itself a folder of markdown in a public repo, published with Flowershow — we eat our own dogfood, obviously.
