❤ Markdown badges — show the flag
Put a '❤ Markdown' badge on your site, README or docs, linking back to the Markdown Manifesto. Free to use, two styles, copy-paste embed.
❤ Markdown badges
Does your tool, site or community speak markdown? Say so. Stick a badge on your README, docs or footer: it links back to the manifesto, and tells your users their content is in an open format they'll never be locked out of.
Embed it
Markdown (READMEs, docs):
HTML:
<a href="https://wayofmarkdown.com/manifesto"><img src="https://wayofmarkdown.com/assets/badges/heart-markdown.svg" alt="❤ Markdown"></a>
Light style: swap heart-markdown.svg for heart-markdown-light.svg. Hosting it yourself is fine too (it's just an SVG — of course you can copy it; that's rather our whole philosophy).
Make it yours
The slogan generalises: "X ❤ Markdown". Obsidian ❤ Markdown, Our docs ❤ Markdown, Berlin ❤ Markdown. Want a custom one for your tool or community? The badge is a 10-line SVG — edit the text, or open an issue and we'll happily generate it for you.
Who's flying it
Nobody yet (the badge launched today 😄) If you put one up, tell us and we'll list you here. Early adopters get eternal glory in this section.
