The robe, parked.
The same press-and-push movement with a long robe over it. Kept because the construction is worth returning to, set aside because the cloth does not yet move like cloth. The live study is at /tai-chi.html.
Why it is parked
Two problems, both real and neither small. The hem moves as one rigid shape. It is offset by a single lag taken from a pose sampled slightly earlier, so the whole skirt slides as a unit instead of the cloth trailing through itself. Flow needs progressive lag along the hem, with the back trailing further than the front, and ideally a short chain that settles rather than a fixed offset. The rear leg disconnects from the robe. The robe is a flat outline that does not know a leg is behind it, so the leg emerges from nowhere. The hem needs to drape around the rear leg and be pushed by it.
Worth keeping: the robe and sleeves are built as open edges rather than closed outlines. Drawn closed, a path has to reverse at the cuff and at the hem and the spline overshoots the reversal into a scribble. And the hem has to sit well wider than the hips, or a bow stance leaves the feet stranded outside it.
